The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) conducted the “Vaibhavam AI Program” on October 24, 2024, a one-day initiative focused on preserving and promoting Telugu cultural heritage through AI. This unique program invited students, faculty, and cultural enthusiasts to contribute by sharing audio and video recordings that capture the essence of Telugu culture, including stories, folklore, history, and other cultural expressions.
The data collected during the event will support the development of a Telugu Language Model (LLM), an AI-driven tool designed to help preserve the language and its rich cultural heritage for future generations. This collaborative event underscores the CSE department’s commitment to using advanced technology to safeguard and celebrate cultural identity. Through “Vaibhavam AI Program,” the department takes an essential step toward creating a digital legacy for Telugu culture, inspiring future generations to engage with and cherish their heritage.
