Overview

Anurag Engineering College is ideally located on a sprawling 30 acres of land in tranquil atmosphere, amidst gardens and greenery . There are exclusive buildings for School of Engineering, School of Pharmacy and School of Business Management. The total area is spread across 5 Blocks (Block A to Block E) and aesthetically designed architecture that provides ample lighting and circulates fresh air.

Library

Anurag Engineering college was established in the year 2001, encourages every student to use the library that has been carefully built-up since the inception of the college. The Library using ground floor for stacking area, circulation section and first floor for Digital library and Reference section. The Library has fully equipped automation facilities and it has 41909 volumes with 5814 titles of all disciplines. The PG Books Procured under TEQIP – II Program (1714 Volumes with 160 Titles). The library subscribed all required 114 Printed Journals and e-journals like IEEE and DELNET which covers around 1053 both National and International Journals. The Anurag library follows open access system encourages the users to browse freely in the stocking area.

Aim

To provide comprehensive information in all formats in order to enrich the knowledge through reading and learning to meet the demands of science and technological developments.

Objectives

  • Enrich collection of various types of books
  • Optimum utilization of existing resources for benefit of students
  • Enhancing reading habit in students and as well as for staff members
  • Providing professional materials for teacher reference and professional carrier
  • Promote library as a vibrant learning unit and provide guidance in the use of technology, materials and resources
  • Promoting use of e-learning to update knowledge
  • Enhance comprehensive materials to engage all students to get rigorous learning experience

Rules and Regulations

  • Three Books will be issued on library cards for a period of 15 days.
  • The books have to be returned in their original condition; otherwise the cost of the book will be charged.
  • For the books not returned in time a fine of Rs 1/- per day will be charged.
  • Any mishandling of materials in newspapers, magazines and books will not entertain.
  • Reference books will not be issued in any circumstances.
  • Any sort of misbehavior or misconduct inside the library will be treated as seriously.
  • Identity card has to worn by the students.

Digital Library

The Digital library has 20 systems with Internet connectivity. The purpose of all these facilities are meant for motivating the students and teaching staff for scholarly and research purpose. With all the above facilities the library is kept opened from 9.00 AM to 6.00 PM on all working days.

Quick Mail / OPAC Search

The Quick Mail/OPAC Search Centre is an innovative concept aimed at providing instant mail access, and OPAC Search to Anurag students. The facility is ideally located in the Central Library and functions on two high configuration systems with Hi-Speed Net connectivity to the internet.

Library automation

The central library was automated by KOHA integrated library software in 2008. The software contains of various modules on acquisition cataloguing, classification and OPAC (on-line public access catalogue).

The application generally consist of the following features such as

  1. Use of Barcode Technology for issue and return of books.
  2. Entry of New Books
  3. Maintenance of Journals & Magazines
  4. OPAC enquiries for users
  5. Stock Details

In Digital library was using by digital library software D-Space in 2011. It provides download E-Journals, E-Books and other reading materials to students and faculty.

Laboratories

  • Engineering means practical education. We make students understand this and they become very keen on practical’s. They are guided by expert faculty and supportive staff in the laboratories for practical learning.
  • The laboratories are carefully established. All labs are monitored by senior Professors of the concerned Department. Quality of the equipment; UPS for each lab and professional maintenance practices are three important factors which help in providing a hassle free learning environment in the campus.
  • 15 high-end computer labs with latest configuration and required software with UPS support.

Anurag has setup a world class air conditioned auditorium in Block – E, that accommodates about 350 participants with all required facilities include Public Address System, Digital Projector, Desktop Computer, Audio visual systems, etc
