An Awareness Program on ROAD SAFETY 

In order to propagate the safety first motto into the student community the NSS unit had organised an awareness program on ROAD SAFETY in Anurag Engineering College on 28.01.2025.

The Kodad division Motor Vehicle Inspector Mr. Jilani, Kodad division DSP Sreedhar Reddy and Ananthagiri Sub Inspector Mr.Naveen Kumar participated as guests and chief guest to stimulate the audience and to make them aware of the societal and family impacts due to road mishaps.The program was incepted by the Rally of students along with the guests and chief guest within the campus premises where students gave slogans related to road safety followed by the speeches. 

After the introduction of the dignitaries on the dais In-charge principal Dr. M.V Siva prasad sir stressed the importance of life and instructed the students to adhere to the safety rules. Sub inspector sir had put forward the number of accidents that happened in the college area in the past year due to rash and intoxicated driving.

Motor Vehicle Inspector sir narrated the importance of adherence to rules while driving, and emphasized that the Supreme court had ordered to have stringent action on the people responsible for accidents. Instructed the students to wear helmets and seat belts during driving, for the well maintenance of vehicles and the necessity of driving license. DSP sir in his speech majorly focused on fast and rash driving by the youngsters floating the safety norms and rules by mimicking the movie stars and participating in the competitions in intoxicated conditions  resulting in grievous road mishaps effecting them, their families as well as the victims  families. He said that children persuade and pinprick their parents for vehicles irrespective of their financial status and ruin their parents financially and mentally due to their negligence driving and asked the students community to be in line with the government road safety measures. Also, he stressed on the importance of the first hour at the time of accidents.

Even few students came forward and expressed their views to curb the road accidents. The cultural team sensitized the students on the importance of life with their songs and folk dances. The program was concluded after the felicitation of the guests and chief guest.
