In an era where digital interactions dominate our daily lives, the need for robust data security is more crucial than ever. Recognizing this, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) at our institution hosted an impactful two-day workshop titled “Empowering Youth with Data Security Skills for a Safer Digital Future” on 15th and 16th April 2025. The event was organized in association with Supraja Technologies, aiming to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world cybersecurity applications.
Workshop Objectives
The primary goals of the workshop were to:
- Introduce students to the fundamental concepts of data security and privacy.
- Equip them with hands-on experience in encryption techniques and secure communication protocols.
- Raise awareness about the latest cybersecurity threats and practical strategies to mitigate them.
- Prepare students for internship and career opportunities in the field of cybersecurity.
Target Audience
The workshop was tailored for III Year CSE (AI & ML) students, drawing an enthusiastic participation of 120 internal students.
Highlights of the Workshop
The event was thoughtfully curated to provide a mix of expert insights, hands-on experience, and engaging activities. The schedule included:

- Expert Talk on the Fundamentals of Data Security
- Workshop on Encryption Techniques and Tools
- Hands-on Session on implementing basic security protocols
- Group Discussions on real-time cybersecurity threats and possible solutions
- Quiz Competition focused on data privacy and protection
- Case Study Analysis of real-world security incidents
- Interactive Q&A with industry professionals from Supraja Technologies
- Internship Orientation and Selection Process
- Valedictory Session with certificate distribution
Key Outcomes
The workshop was a resounding success, offering both academic enrichment and practical exposure. Students explored essential topics such as:

The interactive nature of the sessions encouraged active student participation, particularly during the quiz, group discussions, and live case study presentations.
Internship Opportunity
A major highlight was the internship orientation by Supraja Technologies. Based on performance, interaction, and enthusiasm displayed during the workshop, 44 students were shortlisted for a free internship, giving them an excellent opportunity to apply their skills in a professional setting.
