Inflate Impact – Challenge of Control and Coordination
February 6, 2025

A structured plan for the Inflate Impact – Challenge of Control and Coordination team-building game. To foster teamwork, enhance coordination and develop strategic thinking through a fun and dynamic balloon-based challenge that emphasizes control, communication, and collaboration.

Objectives of the Contest:

  • Improve team coordination and non-verbal communication.
  • Encourage strategic planning and quick problem-solving.
  • Develop patience, control and the ability to adapt under pressure.
  • Strengthen trust and cooperation among team members.

On Feb 06, 2025, the Inflate Impact – Challenge of Control and Coordination was organized for IV & III B.Tech  Civil students of Anurag Engineering College at the Block A Seminar Hall. The contest structure was as follows:

Contest Structure:
Team Formation:

  • Participants are divided into teams of 3 members.
  • Each team selects a team leader responsible for guiding strategies (without physical involvement in the task).

Game 1:Challenge Setup

Each team receives:

  • 10 glasses- frame a pyramid shape
  • One balloon (un-inflated)
  • Only one team member can inflate balloons at a time, using their breath.
  • A designated “control zone” and “impact zone” marked on the floor.

Game 2:The Coordination Run

  • The inflated balloons must be transported from the control zone to the impact zone.
  • Rules:
    • No hands allowed Teams must use other body parts (like elbows, knees, or backs).
    • If a balloon drops the team must return to the starting point with that balloon.

Game 3:The Balloon Balance Challenge

Balance and move with three balloons—two under your arms and one under your knees—without dropping or popping any

Rules:

  1. Setup: Each participant gets three balloons:
  • Two to be held securely under each armpit.
  • One to be squeezed gently between the knees.
  1. Starting Position:
    • Stand upright with all balloons in place.
    • Hands must remain free (no holding balloons with hands).
  2. Challenge Options:
    • Race Mode: Participants must walk or hop to the finish line without dropping or popping any balloons.
    • Balance Mode: Stand in place and hold the position as long as possible without letting the balloons fall.
    • Obstacle Course (Advanced): Navigate around cones or objects while maintaining balloon balance.
  3. Rules During the Challenge:
    • No touching the balloons with hands.
    • If any balloon drops or pops, the participant must return to the starting line or is disqualified (depending on the game style).
    • Hopping is allowed but be careful not to lose balance

Game 4&5 :Blindfold Balance Quest

Complete a series of challenges—walking a rope path and pouring water into glasses—all while blindfolded, testing balance, coordination, and focus.

Rules:

  1. Setup:
    • A rope is laid out on the ground as a narrow path (can be a straight line or zigzag for added difficulty).
    • A handkerchief is used as a blindfold for each participant.
    • A jug of water and empty glasses are placed at the end of the rope path.
  2. Starting Position:
    • Participants stand at the starting line with the handkerchief securely tied as a blindfold, covering their eyes completely.
    • They hold the water jug (or receive it at the pouring station, depending on the variation).
  3. Challenge Sequence:
    • Step 1: Carefully walk along the rope path from start to finish without stepping off.
    • Step 2: Upon reaching the end, pour water into the glass while still blindfolded.
    • Step 3 (Optional): Carry the filled glass back along the rope without spilling.
  4. Rules During the Challenge:
    • No peeking—the blindfold must stay in place at all times.
    • Hands can be used for balance, but participants cannot touch the rope directly for guidance.
    • Stepping off the rope results in a 5-second time penalty (or requires restarting the path).
    • Spilling water excessively (outside the glass) can result in additional penalties or disqualification.

Winning Criteria:

  • The team finish first, after all phases wins.
  • Bonus points for team spirit, creative strategies and effective leadership.
