The Department of Civil Engineering is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the JINDAL Urban Waste Management (JUWMVL) Solid Waste Management Plant, Visakhapatnam. This strategic collaboration marks a significant step in fostering academic-industry interaction and providing students with practical exposure to real-world environmental engineering practices.
As part of the MoU, students and faculty members will have the opportunity to observe and learn from the operational framework of a modern solid waste management facility. The plant implements advanced processes in municipal solid waste collection, transportation, segregation, and treatment. Depending on the technologies employed at the time of visit, participants may also gain insights into waste-to-energy conversion methods and composting techniques.
This initiative aligns with the department’s commitment to promoting sustainability, environmental responsibility, and skill development in the field of waste management. It will also serve as a valuable experiential learning platform, bridging the gap between academic concepts and practical application in urban infrastructure.
The department extends its gratitude to JUWMVL for this collaborative opportunity and looks forward to an engaging and educational partnership.
