On September 25, 2024, the Department of CSE (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) at Anurag Engineering College organized an insightful workshop titled “An Awareness Program on Gynecological Cancers in Women”. The program was conducted by esteemed doctors from the Indo-American Cancer Institute, Hyderabad, with a focus on creating awareness about critical health concerns faced by women.

The session was led by Dr. Harjot Kaur Bajwa, a renowned Radiation Oncologist, who shared valuable insights into gynecological cancers. Dr. Bajwa categorized the three main types of cancers that predominantly affect women:

• Cervical Cancer
• Vaginal Cancer
• Uterine Cancer

She emphasized the importance of early detection and discussed common symptoms that women should be aware of. Additionally, highlighted the role of vaccinations, particularly the HPV vaccine, in preventing cervical cancer. She also provided guidance on lifestyle changes and precautions women can take to lower their risk of developing these cancers.

The workshop saw enthusiastic participation from the CSE (AI & ML) girls’ students, who gained valuable knowledge about the significance of health awareness. This initiative further reinforced the college’s commitment to empowering students with vital information about women’s health and well-being.

The event was a significant step toward fostering a healthier and more informed community at Anurag Engineering College.
